Professional Skin Care Foundations
Build the clinical thinking behind every good skin treatment. This course teaches you how to assess the skin, identify priorities and create a logical treatment plan instead of simply following a standard facial routine.
What makes this course different?
This is not a product demonstration or a basic facial class. The focus is on understanding why you choose a treatment, what you are trying to change in the skin, and how to adapt the treatment when the client in front of you is different from the previous one.
What you will learn
- Skin anatomy, barrier function and skin renewal
- How to recognise common concerns including acne-prone skin, pigmentation, dehydration, sensitivity, enlarged pores, texture changes and visible signs of ageing
- How to conduct a structured professional consultation
- How to identify the client’s primary and secondary concerns
- How to recognise indications, contraindications and treatment limitations
- How to set realistic treatment goals and explain them professionally to the client
- How to choose between hydration, exfoliation, corrective treatment, device-based treatment and home care
Treatment planning & protocols
You will learn how to build a treatment plan according to skin condition, tolerance, treatment objective and lifestyle. The course connects skin analysis with real treatment choices so you understand when to prioritise hydration, barrier support, exfoliation, corrective treatment or preparation for more advanced procedures.
We work through protocol thinking for acne-prone skin, pigmentation, dehydration, sensitivity, dull skin, texture and ageing concerns.
Hands-on practice
During the practical part you will carry out consultation, skin assessment and treatment planning before performing a structured professional facial treatment. The trainer explains the reason behind the treatment sequence and product selection while you work.
You will be encouraged to modify the protocol according to the skin in front of you rather than simply repeat a fixed routine.
What you should be able to do after the course
- Assess a new client’s skin in a structured way
- Identify what should be treated first
- Select a logical treatment approach
- Recognise when a treatment should be modified or avoided
- Create a basic professional treatment plan and home-care direction
- Build the foundation required for HydraFacial, chemical peeling and microneedling
